Die multi-stilistische Cellistin und Sängerin Johanna Stein (*1983) aus Köln fühlt sich auf jeder Bühne, in jeder Besetzung und in jedem Studio zu Hause; ob Klassik, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Fusion oder Weltmusik – kein Stil ist ihr fremd. 

Sie absolvierte ihr klassisches Studium an der Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Schottland, gefolgt von einem Masterprogramm am Konservatorium in Arnheim, Niederlande. 

Ihre Leidenschaft für den unkonventionellen Einsatz des Cellos und ihre von Natürlichkeit und Präsenz geprägte Stimme erlauben es ihr, sich in verschiedensten Projekten zu präsentieren:

neben ihrem Soloprogramm ist sie unter Anderem im Chamber-Pop Duo ‘SteinMays’, dem Quinteto non-tipico ‘Tango de Minas’, dem avantgardistischen Streichquartett ‘Badz’ und der Big Band ‘Été Large’ zu erleben. 

Mit ihrer Begeisterung und ihrem Talent sich in die unterschiedlichsten Genres und Stilrichtungen einzufühlen, bereichert sie seit Jahren das Internationale Festival 'Akkordeonale'.

The multi stylistic cellist and singer Johanna Stein (*1983) from Cologne feels right at home on any stage and in any set up.
Whether it's classical, jazz, rock, pop, fusion or world music - no genre is foreign to her.
She graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland, and went on to study in the masters programme at the Messiaen Academy/ArtEZ in Arnhem, Netherlands. 

Her passion for the unconventional use of the cello and her pure, intense voice allow her to shine across a variety of projects: alongside her solo programme she plays with the chamber-pop duo ‘SteinMays’, the avant-garde string quartet ‘Badz’, the quinteto non-tipico ‘Tango de Minas’, and the big band 'Été Large', among others. 

With her enthusiasm, talent, and comprehension of the most diverse genres and styles, she has enriched the International Festival 'Akkordeonale' for years.
